"The fuse" meaning which one? I did not check which one or which ones need to be taken out but it is essentially the same to pull the fuse as disconnecting the battery, as long as relevant fuses are pulled. Of course if the radio fuse would need to be taken out, the code would be needed anyway. It could be another controller on the same CAN bus that needs a reset, disconnecting the battery makes it easy in the sense that all devices get switched off.
Anyway I assume you disconnected the fuse for the door control units and it is good to know that this alone did not help.
Yeah. I am acutally an ex-ASE certified auto mechanic. I have had seven '69 Chevelles (2 SS convertibles), two '67 SS's, a '68 Camaro SS, a '67 442 convertible, a 928s Porsche, five 5 series BMWs, three trucks, three motorcycles, and this is my second CLK.
These little quirky things drive me nuts! But cars are fun!
I make vaccines now and only get greasy on my time.
It was the window fuse.
I'm just havin' fun. Oh, I think these CLKs are amazing little hotrods. I can own any reasonably priced car and this is the one I choose!
I named myself after going from 50 MPH to zero in about two feet. I hit a metal pole last year and my CLK saved my life! The pole was six inches away from the windshield and the glass didn't break! Also, both of the doors opened! I was in a coma for three weeks, but am feelin' lucky as of today.
Life is good. Protect it. Always drive a safe car!!!!!
