mecedes good will replacement parts.

I have a 2003 G500. The door sill control modual when out. The control modual that light up the neon door sill lights. I took the part out and discover that it was made defective. The way this should be made is by fill the entire circuit with expoxy. It is obvious that this was not filled completely. G not under warrentee.

I call 1800 mercedes they said any type of good will costomer service has to be determined by the service manager and take it to the service manager. The G has 34000 miles on it. The part cost over $250.

Any one have any type of experience with this "good will" type of things? Is it like you pay for the part free labor, or free labor but you pay for the part. Discount on the part and how much if so ho much.

Yes, the experience is it happens at the dealership where you bought the car new.

Or at the Mercedes dealership where you bought the car used.

Especially at the Mercedes dealership where you have been having regular maintenance and any special repairs performed.

Don't think you can just walk in off the street as a stranger and get something free.

Off topic I apologize but I see you have a Merkur. My old Scorpio was my favorite car second only to the Benz. What great cars and far advanced for the time.

I had MBUSA ordering reimbursement for fuel pump on our ML that was past the warranty.
Local customer service got the order from main office and wasn't involved in the approval.
Than it might be understandable that MB doesn't want to spread the word of INSIDE fuel tank pumps catching the fire.

This is a 6 year old truck. Expect things to break. $250 is nothing for a repair on this truck.
