new to Benz W. could use help 4 my 190e
I have a 1993 190e 2.6 bought new, I took great care of it for all these years.
But got an ignition lock problem. Key got 100% stuck. My neighbor is a friend and avid mechanic but not an MB one but he was still able to take out the key tumbler and we had to grind the ignition lock housing to separate it from the key tumbler
I am ordering the ignition lock housing and the key tumbler hoping the ignition switch is still good. I have the Haynes 190 repair book.
But nowhere on any MB sites or other nor in the Haynes book is mentioned how to re assemble the key tumbler (lock cylinder) to the ignition lock housing as it seems there is a collar or some kind of ring in between those 2 parts that we had unfortunately to damage to separate the 2 former parts. We can not find anywhere info about that collar if it comes with the ignition lock housing.
Can anybody help for learning how to re assemble:
1. Lock cylinder (+ black cover)
2. Ignition lock housing
