Smile I'm new to this forum, but not to MB

Greetings from the south coast of UK.
I've currently got a 190E 1.8 as my run around, but I'm currently looking for a 230CE/280CE pre 85 (as I think they're pretty.) Grew up with mercs as my father loves them (got an E220 and a 420SE).

If anyone knows much about the CE's I'd be interested to know what people think of them, and what sort of power these things can be made to produce, as the standard 130/160 hp I think is a little on the sedate side for these heavy ol' gals.

I've read that the AMG kit would bring power up, but it seems like and awful lot of work and expense not to mention the difficulty in finding the kit; surely someone has tried a custom ecu and supercharger on these before?

Dunno but in my experience there isn't much available in the way of tuning for most Mercs. If you have the time and space I'm sure you could pick up a V8 from a 126 and maybe slap that in?
But as I remember the steering is very woolley on the 123s. S maybe some suspension upgrades are in order first. Making your car as quick as possible from A-B isn't just about power output. You can shave time by stopping harder and cornering even more sharply.
