2000 mercedes s500 EIS MODULE

I drove through some water, and now my s500 wont start. not even turn over.A couple other misc. things dont seem to be working either. had a mechanic look at my car and told me i needed an Electronic ignition switch module. Could someone please tell me where to find this on the car and what all is involved in putting it in. I also think i nneed to change the rear SAM module, but know where that is... Would really appreciate the help.

That must have been some deep water because I think the EIS module is in the steering column near to where you insert your key. IF your EIS is bad, your starting issue is probably a coincidence.

EIS would be part number 110 here:
Ê*ò*ëîã
But you cannot change it to a new one without Star.

To make it easy, rear SAM would also be part number 110:
Ê*ò*ëîã

110 is indeed the EIS but the rear SAM is under the right rear seat and often is the first to go when water gets around. The EIS is a trip to the dealer job and cannot be done by a specialist.

What happened is as soon as i drove through the flooded road, all the lights lit up on the dash, speedometer quick working, and when i turned the car off, it hasnt started since. I t hought it was weird when he told me it was the EIS module, I figured it would of been the SAM module, being it was so close to the ground.

Is there any way i could install the EIS MODULE, not just the EIS, and the SAM module but not code them, then just take the car up to dealer tp get them coded? and could the SAM module prevent the car from starting/turning over?

Thanks so far everyone. Youve been a great help...

Are you saying the engine turns but does not fire or are you saying the engine does not turn at all??

Try to start the car with the headlamps on main beam, question. do the headlamps stay on full or do they dip or go out altogether?

But if you can turn the key, drive authorisation should be successful and then I would not expect an issue with the EIS. I did not see how the W220 works but I would not expect the rear SAM controlling the starter motor.

A bit more info about the diagnosis and fault codes would be useful.
