Getting my feet wet with a late 70's SLC

I'm new to BW; I came across this forum while doing research for an upcoming purchase of a late 70's SLC. Which I'm looking to purchase one as my daily driver. My only concern is the possibility of mechanical issues. I don't know what to expect and what to look for yet.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That will be a good gift as far as you are concerned with the mechanical issues you can consult your car dealer.

Welcome to BW, they are pretty reliable cars in their simplicity. If you don't work on your own cars, then an older Mercedes may not be the best for you and labor costs on a 30 year old car is exactly the same as that on a 3 year old car.

They are simple but do require attention as they are from an era where cars just needed more attention but you'll have a lot of support from the forum.

With best regards
