Mercedes Roadside Assistance

Had my first experience with the above. Must say that the service was excellent, very courteous, prompt and reasonably priced. I had my battery conk out on my 560SL while I was away from home. I was in the Hilton Head, SC dealer's area. They came out and installed a new battery for me. No charge for the labor. I was only charged the MSRP price of the battery, $135. That's about the same price as the McParts stores good batteries. Since my Mercedes battery lasted me 9 years, I decided to go with another one. The service truck carries a battery for pretty much every Mercedes out there.

A Mercedes branded battery only lasting 9 years . . . what a decline in quality!

That is the way roadside used to work, it is disappointing to see some dealerships resort to gouging. I personally have had stellar service, but friends have had issues where they dont carry batteries or charge an inflated rate plus labor. As someone suggested ask for a price, the jump is free, courtesy of MB "lifetime, this includes fuel, or a tire change.

Cool Not my experience

I ran it out of gas in New Mexico.

I rang the MB road side number for 45 minutes and no answer.

I remember paying like $180 in California couple years ago.
Than few months later for another sedan I spend $80 for 100 months warranted battery at Costco.
