W220 Vibration after 65MPH

Hi Guys,

I have a W220 S500 and I have a vibration/wobble issue. When I get to 65 MPH or more there is a bad vibration/wobble thru the car. I got it tracked and balanced and was told there was a flat spot in my rear driver-side tyre. I bought a new tyre and it only made a slight difference? The car is smooth up until 60-ish...........

Any ideas? Is this a common thing or should I be looking for something else? All tyres are almost new except now for the brand new one fitted today.

Mark.

Bent wheel, out of balance propeller shaft, bent half-shafts, Irish roads , broken motor mount--it could be lots of things. Does the vibration worsen as you go faster, or does it just appear at that speed?

I suggest you go to the W220 forum and ask the same question there. While I own a W220, I've never had nor heard of this as a common problem but someone in that forum may have and be able to help you better than this general MB forum.

Cheers.

W220 wobble

Cheers for that man, it gets worse as I go faster. I will drop it down to Merc and see what they say.........$$$$$$$$.

It's hard to diagnose something like that, there are too many variables. I haven't got the expertise to look after it.

I asked the W220 forum and we'll see what they say!
