I had left the lights on overnight and the battery in my old '02 CLK died. I also couldn't get the trunk open, but I could get the hood open and in there was a jumper terminal, onto which I attached a pair of jumper cables to provide power so that I could release the trunk. Then I recharged the battery. Maybe your car works the same way.

There are two ways;

1. Remove one of the licence plate lamps and connect a 12v battery to the wires. This will enable you to unlock the car.

2. Lift the front of the car and connect to the live one the starter and a suitable ground with a 12v battery, this will enable you to unlock and start the car.
