Alright so first let me say my family owns 6 Mercedes so I like the cars and everything. However, I just bought the 2009 C230 December 24th and maybe 2000km in to owning the car the Check Engine Oil light came on. I took it to the Benz dealership and they told me that 2.5 liters of oil were missing and there was no leak that they could find. They said they would run diagnostics on the car to try and find the problem. When the car reached 3000km a clicking noise was coming from the engine/belt. I took it to the dealership yesterday to get it checked out and they told me that there is (or so they think) something wrong with the lifter and that the car is eating up oil like it's water. They still don't know whats wrong with the car and it might take up to 2 weeks to fix. Its a brand new car with 3000 clicks and there's already engine problems! And not to mention I have the B200 service car that they gave me to drive, nothing against it but its not really my kind of car lol.

My wife and I bought a 2008 c-230 and drove it home straightfrom the dealer. The next day my wife took it to wiork and back, and when she arrived back home I noticed an engine knock at idle, and only when engine was warmed up. Long story short, the dealer did find an engine knock and head office advised them to remove front belt and check for noise. When that didn't work they were told to remove a cylinder head. That's when I said I wanted a new car, becase this one only had 70 km on it. They agreed and gave us a c-300 for a little more money. So far this car has been working fine and has 1800 km on it.

Silver, if they don't know what the problem is how are they going to fix it?? Lifters don't eat oil, they are hydraulic and if its knocking then its collapsed. Sounds like your dealer is throwing some bull.
