A little off topic but this thread did make me smile

I am from the UK and now live in the US, North Carolina and here my experience has been that no driving 'skill's' are needed to obtain a driving license. If you can push the go and stop pedal’s, turn the wheel you are good to go! If you can do all that while drinking coffee, reading the paper, eating breakfast and/or fixing your makeup, even better, I think that puts you in the advanced driving club

In the UK and most of EU that I know, working a manual tranny and taking driving instruction from someone other than your family = better skilled drivers. My last visit to Brussels was really scary but boy they have the skills to drive around like they do with little issue. Although I must say trying to spot a car with zero panel damage was also a challenge

Than the biggest impression in my life made on me drivers from Athens. That was well over 20 years ago, but I bet they didn't change.
On main city street with 3 lanes in each direction the limit was 70 kph. At red light drivers stop on each lane including the one for left and the one for right turn.
When the lights turn green all 5 lanes of cars with tires squeaking at gear changes moved straight forward merging into the 3 lanes with no problem and lot of smiles.
This is something you can see in real to belive.
