Well it's official, I got a call from BM GM dealership and I'm told that I can only extend the warranty with MB if the car is certified, otherwise I have no choice but to use 3rd party. Of coarse he stated how their 3rd party warranty is just as good.
If you know otherwise please let us know.

Please disrigard my last post. I contacted Lisa Lehrbaum at Courtesy Motors (authorized MB dealer in Chico, CA) at 1-800-655-3535. They used to sell MB expended warranties for just a little over 50% off. I found her info in another forum -

She can do 7 yr 75k (total) no certification needed. Quoted me $3,400 which is very reasonable considering it's MB warranty.

Just fyi.

According to MBs web page, extended warranty can be purchsed in increments up to 8 years 100k, but a surcharge can be levied after thirty days except in a handful of states

Post Extended Warranty

I have a 2007 S550 that is going to run out of warranty, soon. The dealership wants nearly $6K to extend the warranty by 5 years and to 100K miles, which I think is reasonable given the 5 year extension (to a 9 year old car at that point) and the cost of repairing these cars.

However, I am worried about a third party company staying in business that long . . . and I would like to buy the MB ELW mentioned here (that I saw mentioned on their website). How do I buy that? My dealership didn't offer me that . . .
