Post CLK 500 from San Francisco

I bought a black 2004 CLK 500 last January w/ 26k miles for $30k. I freakin love the roar of my engine every time I turn it on. It makes all the guys salivate (esp. my bf with his measely 6 cylinder Subaru Outback...sucka!)

So far, in the year that I've owned the car, everything's been running smoothly (hope I'm not jinxing it!). Which is SUCH a relief after owning a 2002 Audi A4. The A4 spent more time with service technicians than with me! Though I do know a lot about various car malfunctions now. I've had some issues with the CLK (brake squeal, alignment pulling to the right), though nothing egregious and unmanageable. Unfortunately, the squeal's to stay unless I buy new non-MB brake parts, and the alignment was sorta fixed with camber bolts (I might have been screwed by the dealer on this one).

Overall, I've been very pleased with my switch to'll be hearing me on the road. Rrrroar!

Welcome aboard, there is a W209 forum if you scroll down the forums page that is specific to your chassis and you'll find lots more detailed information in there.

If you want a bit more roar and a bit more power, a popular mod for the V8 is to replace the resonator with an X-pipe, which can be sourced from ebay for a good price and then you get a good exhaust shop to pull the resonator and weld it in with a bit of additional piping.

Take care and enjoy the ride,
