CPO Warranty Work question on C Class
Hello all. I have a 2002 C240 that has been giving me a vibration problem between 30-40mph. I started the whole warranty process in January but the problem wasn't taken seriously till February 6th... Which was 2 days before my warranty expired. Prior to Feb 6th they balanced the wheels, changed tires etc. On Feb 7th (still 1 day of warranty left) they changed my motor/tranny mounts and replaced the differential. They said the problem was solved... Great. I picked the car up after hours from the sales department and as soon as I drive the car off the lot, I still feel the vibration. I pulled a U turn and told the salesman the problem was still there BUT my warranty is up. He said no problem. Take it home and call service in morning.
Now, they are telling me they have to spend 8 hours checking drivetrain alignments and I'm being told that "adjustments" are not covered under warranty and that I'll have to deal with the idiosyncrasies of the car. Is that right? Does MB not cover adjustments to alleviate vibrations under warranty? Also, since this process was started under warranty and the problem is still there after expiration, do they still have to cover it?
