I suggest you check the morgues of automotive press periodicals. Most of the information I receive starts with Automobile and Car & Driver. Both have on-line search capability. Then I would follow through Business Week, Forbes, and Fortune. The automotive boys smelled a rat from the git-go and called it what it was. The business press was slow to pick up the scent because they didn't understand what the merger did to both marques; they were just looking at numbers. By the time they figured it out, it was over. The European press never got a whiff from what I can tell.

I don't know if this info will benefit you or not; You can compare the MSPR for mercedes benz in different markets. For instance, the price of S class in US is much cheaper than its price in middle east for the same package. the variation laid between 15% up to 50%

I'd like to second your recommendation! I just read the book as per your suggestion and found it very interesting and informative. A bit heavy on the marketing aspect but that's admittedly the focus of the author. I did enjoy the chapters dealing with dispelling of common myths and the general timeline of the company's fortunes and failures.
