Well I am a diehard old school Toyota fanatic, having owned 2 celicas and onto my 2nd Supra.

My girlfriend's grandmother had an old gold Benz, that apparently was so fully of rust and stalling on hot days it was going to the wreckers.

I offered to pay wreckers money for it, knowing it was a V8 that had been rebuilt only 100,000kms ago... and it was given to me.

Turns out it was a South african w126 380se, and dad's friends from south africa purchased it there and brought it here, as you couldn't take money out of the country. then my girlfriend's grandparents bought it!

after planting the foot the first time i was hooked on the V8 noise... euro OHC glory, bugger this pushrod V8 rubbish.

So all i have done is replaced the bonnet star, and fiddled with the ke jetronic mixtures a bit to get slightly better consumption. The paintwork is pretty good, but the chassis rails are full of rust (some repaired) and many parts of the car are also full of nature's weight reduction. still looks nice from the outside though.

it doesn't have any SLS, electric seats, merely a sunroof. which is a tad disappointing but not too worry. it also has no cats, O2 sensors or emissons stuffs.

The motor always felt quite strong, and I put it on the gtech and got a very surprising 0-100kmh in 7.9s and the 1/4 in 15.8s at 92mph. I've done this in a few cars before and know it's fairly accurate (at the certain road etc), so that is nice to know.

The plans are to fit it with some nice wheels, and perhaps springs. AMG old-school style. Ultimately the body is ruined, so I want to buy an SEC rolling shell and transfer all the running gear over to it. (Making some nice exhaust extractors at the same time) The ke jetronic system is faulty and I want to replace it with a proper EFI system such as a haltech.

I am toying with the idea of having an SEC racecar... or just have a lovely daily driver. not sure.

I am know hopelessly addicted to the sound of the MB V8, and only wish mine had an extra 1800cc of displacement
