New W123 owner

I have just bought a 230E 1984 model, 44,000 miles and good service history. I am in the UK.

Bodywork is very good indeed especially underneath the car. One or two minor paint blemishes to sort out and the engine bay needs tidying but it is the basis of a very good example with a few weekends work.

This is my first Mercedes apart from a brief flirtation with a 200CLK which didn't work out as Mercedes Direct sold me the car cheaply without telling me it had long-standing issues with water in the footwells. They had the car back and I got a full refund. Thought I would look at older models from when they really were a lot better made than most marques. And I am Very Happy!

I would welcome any advice on the following:
  • Which aftermarket workshop manual to buy?
  • How to go about re-fitting an electric aerial which was probably there from new.
Thanks for any help.
