MB Novice considering used 03 E320

New to the BenzWorld and considering purchasing an 03 E320 with 83K miles. Exterior and interior both immaculately clean...CARFAX indicates no accidents and shows a regular service schedule was maintained. Price is well within Edmunds guidance...only mark against the car is it is wearing an unmatched set of tires...Bridgestone in front and a generic brand in back.

How would you owners rate these cars...I'm heading back later this week to test drive.

Thanks for any comments or advice. Mike

Welcome to Benzworld.

There are always a few exceptions but overall the 2003/2004 E320 and E500 have bad repuations. Be very careful and have a thorough pre-purchase inspection done. I would use a dealer for this, but that is certainly not your only option. Lastly, that is a W211 and there is a forum here dedicated to that series. Just scroll down from here and look under the Sedans heading.

Good luck!

Avoid the 03/04 E class. Just look at the forum, then take a look at the reliability data. Unless you like an all-corners-cut car with poor quality electronics and multiple expensive failures, then look to either an 00-02 E320 or an 07+ E350.
