03 C240 driver seat fuse blown 3 times

The fuse (#2) that controls the back and height of the driver's side seat has blown 3 times in 5 minutes. Looked under the seat and all wires seem to be fine. Not familar with cars but I'm sure there is an underlying problem. If so, are there any suggestions on what to check? How about cost to repair?

Exclamation Solution for seat fuse problems!!!

My wife's C240 2004 kept blowing fuses.... same as yours. Sometimes when you move the seat forward and back or up and down... etc. MB blew it on this one.

I decided to find the fault. Somewhere the power was going to ground and popping the fuse. I just removed the entire seat. Not really that hard to do, but after finding the problem... I may have been able to fix it with the seat still in the car. For sure you have to remove the side cover of the seat which is next to your left thigh as you are sitting in the drivers seat. The big black knob pops off but be careful not to break it. With the cover off....follow the two wires that follow the metal seat frame towards the back of the seat and up into the seat back. Just as the two wires curve up and into the seat back they rubbed on the metal frame and bare wire was showing. Fix the wires and make up a protector. I just sliced a 3/8th fuel line and put both wire sets into it and taped it up. Problem solved. I have photos of the entire job but did not know how to post them here.

All the best, Mike
