Hello from Brighton England.
Thanks for allowing me to join your most excellent forum. My name is Adrian I run a W210 E300 Turbodiesel Avantgarde Estate and I am currently repairing a damaged W124 E220 Convertible which when finished will become my wifes daily driver.
I joined the motor trade in 1976 as an apprentice mechanic, worked my way through the body shop and eventually opened a restoration shop specialising in Classic Jaguars.
Many years later I found myself with a large retail showroom selling late low mileage cars. These days I am not involved full time with the car trade but have a large workshop where I play with a few old cars.
The E220 Convertible had been hit whilst parked, on the drivers A post, badly damaging the door and front wing. The structure of this series is such that the impact did not move the A post or bulkhead at all and the repair has been very straightforward.
The car is a 94 done 90k in Anthracite Blue, Blue Top & Parchment Leather.
Before the impact, a very nice straight panelled car with a reasonable history.
Various electrical items have been repaired and or replaced. The rear window lifts had broken cables, and the hood hydraulics needed overhauling. Thanks to some excellent posts on this forum I have saved a great deal of time over these repairs.
Oh, I have also recently prepared the E300 to run on Bio diesel which I will process myself using a recently aquired bio processor.
This only involved renewing the plastic fuel lines, viton seals, the low pressure returns from the injectors, and after 1,000 miles the main fuel, pre and tank filter elements.
Once again thanks for a great website.
