Post Newbie

Hi,
New to the forum, but not to Benz. There is a great wealth of of info here and I'm relly excited to share experiances.
Past ownership has been some classics, (250C, 280C, 240D) but it looks like we are ready for a slightly newer model for my wife. Any advice on how I can search the forum to get some objective feedback on individual models? Sure, I can wade through posts on a variety of issues, looking for common problems, but how would I determine if a 1997 C230 has fewer problems than a 1996 C220? Or if a higher-mileage C240 flex is worth the extra $$ over a low mileage C230? Thanks again for a great forum.

Welcome , I'm new here too , likewise not to Mercs .

That's a nice looking W123 in your avatar !

Here in the UK , W123 prices are rising sharply - good ones , especially coupes , can now reach as high as £10,000 - £15,000 and you just don't get cheap ones for a few hundred anymore - all the rotten ones have gone to the car park in the sky and the good ones that are left are becoming sought after and collectable !

Ask me anything about 1950's models up to W201/W124/W126/R129 . Anything later than that just doesn't appeal to me .

Thanks. Hopefully someone on the forum is aware of some area or group of threads related to general purchasing questions, ie; what to look for, what to avoid, common problems by model, etc.
