You do realize that that was a joke. Of course a normal engine can go that many miles! But inside a Chrysler product? Maybe not. Also, Dmax is one best consumer grade Diesels on the market today. I'm not at all shocked to hear that is hasn't let you down.

An expert at the UK forum referred to this issue. It does apply to MB (the same engine when installed on an MB). But I have never seen any owner reporting the issue. I asked from the UK expert if this was a frequent issue or only concerned a few engines but I did not get any reply. The issue is neither limited to some very specific time frame.

Some more info would be of interest.

But I don't see this related to the case on this thread really.
