2005 Benz Question

I am considering buying an 05 Mercedes Benz from auction. My mechanic has checked it out and assures me all is OK. The issue is that the vehicle is a REPO and now only has one key. Should I be concerned?

Can I get extra keys made at a dealer/how much would that cost?

Also could I pick up a manual from the dealer?

Thanks

Don't buy repo's. If the owner couldn't afford to make the payments, how well do you think they maintained the vehicle? Poorly to no maintenance I'd be willing to bet.

i see your point, but at these economic times, auction prices are very low, sometimes 50-60% less than kbb price. also the mileage is in the 40's

I think lease has much better chances for lack of maintenance than repo, but this is me.
I bought new chrome key from Duval for $130. Suppose they raised the price in last months, but getting another key is not a problem once you have pink slip for the car.
What model is it?

If your issue is simply about the missing key, I bought my 2004 CLK with only one key. I then bought a second from my M-B dealership, and they 'cancelled' the operation of the missing key.

With that done I felt secure that the missing key could not be used to steal the car.

Whats an approximates price for a key, and cancelling the operation of the other key?
