Hi everyone. I feel at home again. Just bought a 2005 SL 500 w/ 14,800 miles on her. What a beauty ... desert silver, pano roof, Keyless GO, AMG package... she's just scrumptuous!!

I feel so at home b/c I had a 1987 190E, which was totaled on Christmas Day 1999 when someone ran a red light and crashed into my front end. I bought the 190 new and had her 13 years, ans despite a weak AC system and having to replace the rear shocks, she was such a workhorse and felt so solid around curves.

Idiot me, when my 190E was totalled, I went with a new 2000 Jaguar S-Type ...what a piece of garbage, crap, doo doo ...you get the point. I put 5 transmissions (yes, not a misprint- FIVE) in that piece of garbage, my window regulators failed, needed a left rear control arm, A/C compressor went and at the end (just last month) I needed an AC evaporator ($1800). Well, I washed the car, drove it to the MB dealer, got $6k for the car (only 52,000 miles!!!!!!), and haven't looked back.

I am an identical twin, and my brother just called me this afternoon ...he went to Charlottsville VA (Brown Mercedes/Saab) and bought a 2006 SL 500 with 12,800 miles on it ....silver w/pano roof. He's glad to have dumped his 2000 Jag S-Type (same type of costly issues as me). Can sleep well again!!!

Glad to be home in the MB family again. Would love to hear from Northeast members!

Happy 2009 to all!!

Hey Mike

Mike,

I wound up buying from Mauro Motors in North Haven. I found New Country to be much higher than other places in CT. What dealership do you work at?

Do you know how to buy an extra set of floor mats for the vehicle and get the 15% Benzworld discount? Where do I do this from this site? Or do i have to go to a specific site to order the mats and mention BenzWorld?

Are you in the Hartford area? Thanks for introducing yourself.

Mark

Hi Mike ...thx for the response... I am a bit confused...what do you do are you a mechanic that I can pay directly? salesperson? do you have your own shop?

Actually, I'm looking to replace the rear taillamps on my 05 Sl 500 with the new 07 style. I think the new ones are much more stylish? How much would that cost? Can I replace them easily myself, or is this a job for a professional?

Also would like to get a set of OEM floor mats for my car (stone interior). Do thety come with the MB logo? Is there a heel strike reinforced area on the floor mats?

Thanks and Happy New Year!!
