Hey guys,

I've recently got a hair-line crack on the inside of my AMG rim on my car. I wanted to know is it worth it to get it weld back together for a fraction of the cost of replacing it?

Also, what is the material that the rim is made out of and how much does a typical rim cost? Thanks in advance. -Danny

-and also does Fix-a-Flat really eat up your tire over time?

Might want to check and see if a wheel shop can fix it for you. Should run you about $150.

They show up on ebay pretty regularly and there are lots of used wheel shops, check CL for major metro areas. Perhaps $125 to $200 for a clean used one. The part number for it is stamped in the inside of one of the spokes, type that into ebay or google and see what you find.

If the crack is structural and not cosmetic, I would respectfully suggest you bid it a fond adieu and get a replacement. A repair on a critical part is still suspect, and for the cost difference it is simply not worth it. Your families' lives and those around you on the road will appreciate it.

Take care and enjoy the ride,
