With Internet access you can shop around. Duval was good option for long time, but if they raised the prices for no good reason, let's take our business to MB of Anaheim.
It's a free country. At least what they say.
When I searched, Duval didn't come up but Caliber MB(MB of Anaheim) did, so I just bought my spoiler from there. Yeah, there's always some good dealerships for each car company. I think Caliber is one for MB. For those who care, this is what I found. Yeah, I also own these car.

Mitsubishi - Rockville Mitsubishi
Nissan - Courtesy Nissan, Midway Nissan, West Covina Nissan, Pinnacle Nissan
Mazda - Showcase Mazda, Med Center Mazda
Mercedes - Caliber MB

How high? You think the car-wash and cappuccino are worth $1780 ?

^^^^^How 'bout a joke to lighten things up?

Guy goes into an attorney and says, "Hey, how much do you charge?"

Attorney responds, "$200 for three questions."

"WOW," the guy replies. "Isn't that awfully expensive?"

Attorney shakes his head, answers, "No, I don't think so. Now what's your third question?"

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. (Winston Churchill)

Sir with all do respect... Is it really my task to go online and question others and search the web for hours to find DTBs and other clues to then go to the dealership and
a) give them the information I'M PAYING FOR
b) give them the material I COLLECTED because I know they can't figure it out and they are considered the pro's?

NO!!!

Guess what, if my customers would have to come to me and tell me how do design and develop electronics circuit what they need b/c I can't figure it out and charge them 250/hr and claim I'm a pro (and I am one) they would be gone in a split second. I can only charge what I'm worth and what I'm capable off to do and claim so on top of it!

so what your saying is because my dealer over charges and you say dealers are never right they cant fix cars.....i must be the problem....... my come back rate speaks for itself and the fact i come on here and try to help should be more proof of that. i take pride in my work , and pride when i fix a car that someone eles couldnt .....BUT FORGET ALL THAT ALL TECHS ARE UNSKILLED, STEALERS RIGHT

Wow, a lot of sour grapes here.

Yeah, the old brick and mortar shops charge more. That's no surprise. Check out a new digital TV online Vs. a local store. Guess who's cheaper. Same with most stores.

But we still need the local dealer for his expertise, some things we just can't do or figure out ourselves.

So use the dealer when you have to and do it yourself or shop around for lesser repairs. Yeah, the dealer rates seem high....so don't go there unless you have to. It's your choice.

But I think the name calling is not needed. It's old and not clever. What's the point?

My late friend was an owner of small MB repair shop. His biggest complain was, that MB USA besides setting very high prices on service computers made lot of technical bulletins unavailable to Indies. There is whole industry in CA making seminars for Indies how to get updates for those cars and how to get necessary tools. My friend used to attend such seminars twice a years. Very often 500 miles from his shop.
