Ok so here's a update. I have just dealt with the rough idle for awhile and have not replaced the wire since the misfire resolved once the plugs were replaced. However I did take it back to Mercedes, they wanted to check the EGR tub and valve. The said it was clear???? Now not only is the rough idle more rough than when I took it. When I accelerate occasional it acts like it is going to stall out and bogs down with like its choking. I let off the gas then try again and usually it chugs a little and gets going back to normal performance. What could they have done while checking the EGR that would cause this. It also seems to shift rough only in 1st and 2nd gear especially when cold. But did not do this until I got it back from the dealer about the EGR. Any more suggestions??? Thanks

When I take my Mercedes to the dealer for a problem I'm having, they give me a diagnosis of the problem and explain what they are going to fix. Did you ever get a clear diagnosis from your service advisor? If so, what was it? If you didn't get a definitive description of what is wrong, then I would be careful about what I let them do. I would at least have an understanding that if their proposed fix didn't solve the problem, you would be off the hook for the cost.

I had the same issue with rough idle, my hood was shaking it was so bad, It turned out to be engine mounts, I replaced both left and right mounts and the car idles so smooth I can hardly tell it's running.
