Exclamation Drilling into Front Bumper? - Down to the Wire

Hello Mercedes Family,

I need to decide by Wednesday if I'm drilling the front license plate holder into the bumper or trying industrial velcro. Somehow my Dad drove the car in CA for 5 years without a front plate. I'm in NY, so the weather is not in my favor. The custom holder is $300, and I don't want to lose it or my plate. Is it sacreligious to drill into the bumper? The car may end up in AZ where they don't require front plates.

I'd love some more feedback on this.

Hi Gwen,,if the bumper is slightly rounded then it may be better if you heated up the plate so that is the same shape as the bumper curve. the double sided sticky tape should hold it OK

I am in the same boat with my "new" car. I made similar topic couple months ago and general response is that tens of thousands cars in CA drive with no front license plate and the Police "got used to it".
Than being at stealer yesterday I noticed they have bend license plate frames.
Plain frame (no logo) $65
I am not in big hurry
