Went to buy a Toyota or Honda, but came back with MUCH more!

So, I went to buy my wife a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry because she's starting a new sales job and her little civic just wouldn't cut it anymore. I drive a 2004 Chevy Tahoe, and have always been an "American" kind of guy. She wanted a Toyota or Honda, and I was going to oblige. Well, we went to a dealership and low and behold they had a 'used' 2007 C230 sport. For whatever reason we looked at it, and there was no turning back after that! I have to say it is the funnest car that I have ever driven. It's pretty much loaded up with just over 20k miles on it, and now I am trying to find out anything and everything on it (especially maintenance), so that led me to this site.

You guys have already been helpfull in explaining oil changes and other usefull things, so i'm sure I'll be a regular here.

Thanks for all the free information!

Hondas ARE great, dependable, reliable little cars and some(CRXs,I've owed two)are very fun to drive on a tight, twisty road.

What they are not is well...a Mercedes. That's not being snotty, that's being truthful and correct.
A Mercedes is in a totally different league and are just as dependable, just as reliable and do it with a lot more class and comfort IMHO.

I would NEVER trade my 89 300E for a 10-15 year old newer model Accord/Civic. Even if it had half the miles my car has at the moment.

I would like to have my old 1988 CRX back as a second car just to play with as it was like driving a Go-Cart and put a smile on my face every time a series of twisty curves came up. To drive it everyday though would and did take it's toll on my body as the seats were stone hard and the ride was quite harsh as well.

That's a coincidence. I've just moved back to Mercedes from owning a Honda CRX SiR vtec which reached 230,000 miles and could still hit 8,000 rpm every day. Wonderful little car with an enthusiastic following in the UK. I wonder if Honda's new CRZ hybrid will be a worthy replacement. Anyway, having owned a W123 estate many years ago I knew I would have to come back to Mercedes eventually. Now I'm suffering from too much electronics because my C220 CDi Pano coupe has just indicated three simultaneous malfunctions .

Hey, SW99, welcome to the family. (I trust you found your car's home forum already?)

And FWIW, the info is not free, we expect you to CONTRIBUTE, too.

Take care and enjoy the new ride,

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. (Winston Churchill)
