Worst car ever
I owned a 20007 MB CLS550 and experienced problem after problem, some minor and some extremely dangerous:
1)A/C blower motor defective---replaced
2)Tires badly out of balance at delivery---balanced and filled to 48psi instead of called for 29psi causing car to bounce all over road
3)Erratic navigation system---attempted re
pair three or four times without success
4)Rattles,creaks,and vibrations in front doors,dash,and A pillars---4 or 5unsuccessful attempts to repair
5)Catastrophic failure at 5000 miles--car suddenly lost power, engine raced,ESP and Engine light flashed.Dealer checked and couldn't find problem in computer and couldn't duplicate.I was told to call if(or when,in this case),it happened again.
6)Repeat of above at 5500 miles, car towed to dealership.Found transmission problem and replaced several parts without sucess.Told that needed new transmission.
7)I received the audacious and insulting offer by MB to "make my next payment" (There are none;I paid cash for the car)
8)With considerable effort,I convinced MB to agree to buyback, but I have to wait about 30 days for the check.
9)I purchased a 2009 Cadillac CTS which was thirty thousand dollars less expensive and which thus far has eclipsed MB in initial quality, performance, fit and finish, cosmetics, comfort, and convenience.Benz had more power (384 hp vs 304 hp)
10) Imagine what would have happened had the catastrophic transmission failure occurred at freeway speeds or when attempting to pass on undivided highway.MB showed obvious lack of concern after first occurrence.
11)I'm through with MB!!!
