Yes you do Greg. You just don't realize that.
I bet you have been using refrigerators your whole life. The compressor oil in those units work much harder than transmission fluid. And it works at close to max load all the time, while our MB drive-train in average works under less than 20% of load.
Converting hours the refrigerator works in its life to car mileage -it is like millions of miles.
So Greg when was the last time you changed compressor oil on your refrigerator?

You must be talking about the a & c Circlips. We have seen a few of those recently. But we are also replacing alot of valve bodys.
