I just got word yesterday from the MB service guys a front wheel of my E350'07 is slightly damaged and need to replace. However, I don't understand why I need to buy four wheels; that's what the dealer was trying to sell.
Any ideas? I checked Ebay lots of OEM after market wheels, I'm kinda reluctant going for non-originals. Any suggestions.
Is it possible you might have misunderstood the dealer? There is no rational reason to replace the other wheels, maybe they were talking about tires?
If they really meant wheels, I would ask to see the service manager, because your SA is a thief and a liar and at the least should be disciplined. If the service manager seems unconcerned, speak to the GM, he needs to be made aware of what is going on before the state attorney's office shows up. Suggest that for the way you have been mistreated, they should sell you the wheel at cost and install it for free.
As to the wheels, did you look on craigslist? Update your profile so we kind of know where you are, but check the bigger cities on CL, there are always OEM wheels on there.
If you draw a zero, go to duvalmotorcars.com and give them your VIN, they will quote you a discount price for the wheel. They are an MB dealer, good folks.
Take care and enjoy the ride,
