E550 Owner - Nothing like German Engineering!!!

Just bought a 2008 Iridium Silver Metallic E550 with the AMG Sport Package, Premium 2 Option, Folding rear seats, Voice Control, tinted windows, and E63 badging with rear spoiler.

I have always wanted a German Engineered car and I finally took the plunge. I am very pleased so far and find more and more things I appreciate about the car every day. Even small things like lighted rear floor boards and seat belts that you hardly realize you are wearing.

I chose it over the BMW because it was more comfortable on normal highway driving, the Jaguar lost due to its poor resale value, Infinity lost on performance and prestige factor, and Audi was also too rigid for normal, every day driving.

So far, I am very happy with the car and I can not believe the number of people who comment on its good looks. Even stopping at a red light has everyone craning their heads. And for red light to red light performance, it is really a blast to drive.

Hope to learn a great deal about Mercedes on this forum and what I can do to make a great car even better!!!!

Welcome aboard. Warning - improper use of AMG badges will get you attacked on this site. Your car sounds nice, I love AMG body parts, just not fake badges.

I guess I am going to have to sit down and read the guidelines for posting photos on this site. Thanks for taking a moment to show your appreciation.

I just took her in for her first skirt lifting!!!

They gave me a 2009 C300 on loan. What a difference. Gave it to the wife to drive. Well see what she has to say. I promised not to bias her opinion until she had it for the weekend.

I tend to keep my cars for many years so your advice is well received. My last car was a 1998 Lincoln Continental. She still is providing reliable service to its new owner.

Thanks again for taking time to show your appreciation.

Whats done is done, but thanks for the warning. I figured I would be honest about it up front because I knew only another MB fanatic would be able to tell the difference.

"Absolutely no comparison to our car or the E class for that matter. Not impressed at all. Of course horsepower is not good. Rougher ride, jerky brakes, not as comfortable inside. Glad it had heated seats though. I wouldn't spend the money on one. The E class is far superior to the C class. Hands down. I hope we get our car back before Friday so I can drive it to Mickey's house."

Quote from my wife after driving the loaner car for a day.
