warranty and G service?

hello benzworld.
newbeee here from hawaii and i had a question on warranty. i did a search on warranty but nothing came up, so if i missed anything already disscused forgive me.
i just purchased a 04' e55 amg from a private seller with very low miles 31,xxxx and he told me the warranty may have expired. i have no time to go the dealer to see if the warranty is still good. ive called the mercedes dealer here and left a message with one of the service advisors but havent gotten a call back yet. so i was hoping i can get an answer from the benzworld peps.
well my question is

1) if the warranty on my car has already expired, how much will it cost to get it covered uder warranty again.

2)The G service indicator is on but the previous owner said it would be a waste to do it so soon because of its low mileage. well the indicator already indicated 136 days over due. was he telling me the truth or did i just get owned...

Cool

Here's some love:

1. The warranty may have indeed expired. It's only good for four years from the in-service date. Since the car is an 04, it most likely has expired, unless it was sold as leftover new stock after the 05s were introduced in the fall of 2004. Even if that were the case, it won't be good for much longer. Did the seller provide documents that show the in-service date? (e.g., MB service records show the in-service date.) If not, you will need to check with Mercedes to learn the inservice date. But I would bet the warranty has expired. At this point, you cannot purchase a Mercedes factory warranty. These must be purchasd before the original warranty expires. You may be able to search on the internet and find someone to sell you a warranty, but prices vary around $1500 to $4000 according to the kind of coverage you want and can get.

2. The service intervals are not only driven by miles, but by time. Some items need servicing at specified time intervals regardless of mileage. Therefore, it would not be a waste of time to have the G service performed. In fact you should have it done as soon as possible since it's so long overdue. The seller was giving you bullshit since he apparently didn't want to pay for the service and wanted to pass the cost on to you.

Thanks man.. I was feeling like i didnt below in this community...

thanks for the info. well i found the last service done which was 5 months ago and indeed the warranty is stated on the service slip. it expired febuary of this year. ill look into some warranty on the site for sure. im more worried about the supercharge failing on me because that is the most expensive part on the car.

just one more question if i do get the outside warranty else where. do you know if theycover slammed rides. I know mercedes warranty voids slammed rides. im planning on lowering my suspension more.

Having a slammed ride would not void the entire warranty. It would only void coverage for any failures the insurer feels were brought on by the lowering. Coverage for any bearing, bushing or other suspension component that fails probably wouldn't be honored.
