Hey there, I am really distressed to hear of your experiences with your dealership; I have worked for Benz for 15 years and have never heard of this type of situation. Why would a dealership schedule 6-8 weeks out; thats rediculous by any standard. I work for a dealership and we have NEVER scheduled anyone that long out. What are you supposed to do if your car goes into limp home mode; you cant drive the car for 2 miles, much less be expected to wait for 6-8 weeks for service. I dont know what the offficial policy is on U S cars being worked on, in Canada, or vice versa. I do know that cars that are "european delivery" are despised by dealerships in the U S, because the have different wiring schematics, and in some cases have different smog equipment and settings pre set by the factory, and cannot be changed by any independant shop or dealership. Dont let a bad experience turn you off of a great brand, just find a reputable dealership or independant shop. Take care, Ron

Ron,
I think we are all on the same page that cars are designed, engineered and build by human beings, and human beings aren't perfect. That we can lead the way of quality I truly believe. We can use high tech, good quality components and materials and we can do a lot that the assembler work hard and care that is something we can control. But the real issue here are 2 things:
a) The total greediness which becomes more and more an issue which also means human beings and their needs are less important that money
b) The total careless of the people who should work hard for their money when it comes to fixing a and maintaining something like a car.
I strongly believe that we have to leave the track of greediness if the human race wants survive and that we all need to start caring more. In this case, if we pay a certain amount of money we (the manufacturer, the mechanic, the SA and such) have to make sure we get what the money is worth it!

Anne Bell finally calls me back.(in a nutshell) I AGAIN express my frustration with Mercedes to her and ask her if she read my letter, she tells me that she did and is trying to contact the owner of the dealership to see what they can do for me...
Off topic:
Seeing that I have had so many problems with my cars I decided to do a little searching to see what the experts had to say about Mercedes. Here is what I found so far.
"In fact, European automakers have consistently fared poorly in recent years in Consumer Reports’ reliability surveys. Mercedes-Benz, in particular, has seen its reliability ranking decline sharply — this year, the German luxury brand placed last in the reliability list of 36 automobile brands, its reliability level 123 percent below the average for the whole industry, said Paul.
“We have seen lows in recent years for European carmakers, but this was a particularly bad year for Mercedes-Benz — it surprised a lot of people,” said Paul.
Consumer Reports placed the Mercedes-Benz CLS, M-Class and R-Class on its “Not Recommended” list because of declining reliability. A third of survey respondents who owned the 2001 Mercedes-Benz C-Class V6 owners “griped about serious electrical problems,” the magazine report said."

Common knowledge that Mercedes reliability has been below average for last decade (and that's being polite). You don't have to depend on CR to reach that conclusion.

Consumer Reports' 2008 Annual Car Reliability Survey
Auto News from October 23, 2008
European automakers, particularly Mercedes-Benz, showed signs of a comeback. Six Mercedes models, including the redesigned C-Class and E-Class (V6) sedans and the ML350 SUV have improved to average reliability and are now recommended. Last year, no Mercedes models had average or better reliability and so could not be recommended by Consumer Reports.
