Hi to all,
I just bought a non-running 1980 380SE off E-Bay and going down to Boston this afternoon to tow it back. It is a one owner Euro car bought new in Munich then shipped here a couple of weeks later. It has always been kept inside and never driven in winter. It was the owners Father's pride and joy summer car. It has fuel delivery problems and hopefully a minor repair, we'll see. I got it real cheap so there is room to play. Inever owned a Benz before but always loved the 126'S. I'll keep in touch with the 126 boys to help me out! They already have. Thanks guys. Kim

Kim,
I had my eye on that very same car! Good luck with it. I have owned the same vehicle for five years now and really enjoyed it despite having to replace many parts.
Before you go spending big bucks on parts, get yourself a dremel tool with a wire brush attachment and clean up all the electrical connections starting at the fuel pump. Make sure you work on the ground connections as well. Other connections to look at are those at the starter motor and the junction box near the oil filter. I have not been able to find a shop manual for this exact model but I found the ALLDATA web based manual for the 1984 380se is worth it.

Wish you the best. I always admire someone with a little gumption to take on a project.

Keep us posted on your progress.
