Smile Hello Everybody!

I'm the happily designated tech advisor to my wife's 1999 SLK 230.
She acquired the car recently, and generally it is in "like new" condition, however some items require attention, some TLC.

The driver side window is closing too high, blocking the door from closing properly.

The passenger side doorpanel broke loose.

I believe the seat height adjuster and the trunk lifter gas struts are weak, so it is hard for her open the trunk, it closes with a heavy thump, and the seat height is not adjustable.

On the passenger side threshold one of those cute little round black plugs are missing.

Googleing up on the window problem took me to this site and I happily registered to see the pictures in the posts.

She is taking it to the local Mercedes service this Thursday for the first time, but I would like to help her with the TLC.

Welome aboard

You can get the plastic round clips to hold the door panel on from ebay, do a search for slk or slk230 they are very cheap.
The gas struts for the trunk are around $17 each from the dealer, very simple job.
I'm not sure how to fix the seat adjuster, try a search.

Thanks,
the door panel I think -and poked around in the forum- needs glueing, the round plastic plug I meant is the decorative black thingie in the brushed aluminum threshold.

I'm happy I found this forum.
