UK Member - Help with US specific part number

Hello all,
I'm looking for a part for my W209 CLK and it's proving difficult; we never got the cup holder version of the front centre arm rest here in the UK, and I'd really like one. I've attached images showing the part in question.

My local dealer cannot find the part. I do have a VIN for a car equipped with it: WDBTJ56H28F253820 so if someone could get a part number and price for me it would be really appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark Stewart

I don't like the idea of cup holders and drinking in the car (so many transmission gear lever units screwed up) but I believe the part with two cup holders is A209 680 53 50.

This is for US cars only but you should be able to order it. I did not check if you would need other parts.

Excellent, thank you. I won't be drinking in the car, I'll most likely use the front cup holder for mobile phone storage; I really like the sliding lid on top though, I think it looks very useful, and the fact it's all leather trimmed is a big improvement on my plastic lid.

Thanks again!

If yours is the European model, can you post pics of the centre console? This is important because I'm fairly sure there is not enough depth to fit the cup holder and therefore you may spend money for a part that cannot be fitted without serious modifications.

ERIC.

Hi Eric, Pic attached.

It is a smooth lid with two handles at the front (both can be locked with the key). The first handle raises the armrest to reveal an oddments tray underneath. The second handle raises the arm rest together with the oddments tray to reveal a large storage area around 10" deep, with an additional pull out coin tray (basically all the space inside the centre console between the two seats).

Looking at the comparison photos again it looks as if I would need more than just the lid, maybe a breaker yard can help me.

Mark

Hi Mark, sorry to say this but I would not attempt to change this without more measurements. I have looked at this in more detail and the American Centre console appears to be slightly wider than the European version.

This does not mean it will NOT fit, but a few mods may be required first. Depth is not a problem from what you said but the width may be.

If all else fails, you could buy the whole centre console for the American version and this may work better.

ERIC.
