Its approximately $235,000. It is a 661 bhp, 738 lb-ft. torque six liter V12 and uses new turbos and less restrictive exhaust.

It has a fixed carbon fiber roof, carbon fiber bodywork and composite brakes. Its 550 lbs lighter and the combination makes it quicker than the SLR, which is mighty nasty in its own right!

Who knows if anything is going to become a collectable? The Ferrari Dino or should I say 246 GT was thumbed down as "not a real Ferrari" with its mid-engine six. But it was a bargain Ferrari when it came out at $14,500 as a coupe and $16,500 as a targa. It stayed in the $15,000 range for at least a decade and then started climbing, I'm sure helped by the ugly Bertone 308.

Now depending on condition, type and year, they sell anywhere from $60-160,000.

In the meantime, This Merc will still be the most civilized, scary fast car you'd want to drive.

First off, they are STILL going to be making a gullwing type car, likely to be called the SLC, the SL 65 BS is NOT the SLC. That's a mistake the magazines have been pushing around.

Second, Try ditching 600 lbs off of a standard SL65, make a different hardtop with different rear glass (the rear glass extends farther back to improve the 'coupe' look), make it a carbon fiber widebody, add 70 hp more, change the car to a carbon fiber interior, change the suspension bits for the wider pieces, add a moving rear spoiler, and THEN tell me it's not much different from the SL65.

uh...you have no idea what you are talking about...the SL 65 BS is MUCH more different than the CLK BS. Just look at the rear wheels on the standard 65, it won't even be close to fitting in height OR width, whereas the CLK BS wheels are only slightly wider than normal 63. Do you have any idea how much work went into changing the roof on the 65 BS? it's not just ditching the hydraulics and putting on a fixed roof. the roof line and rear glass is entirely different.

that article is over a year old and has not been updated. If you look, that article even mentions the 63 motor in that car, so either way it's wrong.

Thank you for all the info. I didn't know most of those specs. Reading your posts got me a little more excited. I was starting to feel I may have made a mistake.
The article I posted is the one that said the car was an SLC. Months back, when I was frst ordering the car this was the only reference of the car I could find. I was just showing it was refered to as the SLC.

Isn't that what I said? That it's is basically a lightened, fixed roof, version with wider tires?

I'm sure it will handle like it's on rails but are you aware of the fact that the 0-60 time is just 2/10ths of a second quicker than the regular SL65?

I buy a lot of things. I don't need to know every single spec. I am not much of a reader. I buy magazines and look at the pictures (in most cases) If it's Mercedes new bada$$ car, that is the fastest car they ever put out, i'll take one.
I have cars that I have had for 2 years, and i'll be driving along and i'll find another cool option I didn't even know it had.

Yes, but you seem to think that is not much of change compared the CLK 63 -> CLK 63 BS, which retains the normal roof, trunk, all the glass, and wheel wells.

Huge difference in the amount of work.
