1988 560SL (help)

Hi, I just got a 1988 560SL, the car is in pretty much mint conditions it has 160,000 miles but it is super clean with original everything and both tops work just fine. The car has no scrapes or anything and even the interior leather looks like new. I got the car from a neighbor who had the car since the early 90's. He past away and the wife did not know where to put the car, so I bought it from them. I need a little help on fixing three bugs with the car. The first is the car idles high when placed in Park or in Neutral gear, it idles at about 1700 rpm, but once placed in drive or reverse it drives and idles just fine, (it idles at about 800 rpm in drive), the second problem is the abs light is on, I checked the breaks and everything seems fine, I guessing it might be a fuse but I dont know where to find the fuse on the car. The third problem is nothing big really, the car has its original stereo and it does not turn on, but when you press the on button it make a clicking noise like its trying to eject the casset or something but nothing happens. Anyway I was hoping somebody here could help a new 560SL owner figure out these bugs, thanks in advance.

I have a 560 SL and I had that idle problem and the shop did the following: Replace fuse for OVPR, the part number was 001 542 22 19 and it was called mb relay gen purp ice cube. I have a complete list of the fuses and what they stand for. I ordered a CD from Mercedes-Benz Luxury Cars: Explore, Build & Compare Sedans, SUVs, Coupes, Wagons. Model 107 Service Manual Library which has the complete list of the fuses and what they stand for.

Now that is what I was told. Hope that helps

Congratulations on your new car, I love mind it is black and beautiful. I am going to give it a name
