W210 2.8l V6 missfire
I have a W210 E-Class 2.8 litre V6 which has developed a missfire with loss of power whilst out on the road. To try and eliminate the problem I disconected ignition coil on each cylinder in tern to see if there was any noticable difference. It was observed that on cylinder number 5 there was no observable difference when coil was disconedted. This led me to believe that the ignition coil had failed, but when lead(s) where remove and placed near the chassy a good health spark was observed.
Is it possible that the injector for cylinder 5 is blocked, and if so would this be enough to make a hugh loss of power? My thoughts that an engine this size could happly run on 5 cyliners without much noticable difference. Or Maybe there are 2 issues here, blocked fuel filter and injector down.
What are your thoughts? and has any one experience a similar problem.
