I need new seats for my '97 sl320

Can anyone recommend how I should go about getting new seats and door panels for my wife's '97 sl320? The seats are beginning to come apart at the seams and the door panels over the speakers are funky.

Thanks in advance,

Mirko

Not worth it. Get rid of the car now before it is too late.

My wife is sentimentally attached to that car. It was always her dream car and she takes good care of it. It only has 70k miles. I have tried to get her another car but no go. Thanks for your reply.

I would really like to get a recommendation for an upholstery shop in Orange or L.A. counties, or Inland Empire, So. Cal. I would like to bring them the seat covers and have them do the work.

dont listen to anything he says.. if you take a second to read all his posts, hes a moron. see if there is a local fabrication shop in your area... kinda like the UNIQUE AUTO TV SHOW but a local one. then ask if you can see pics of their work or something to see if they did a good job. most custom shops like that can resurface interiors and re-sew or re-cloth any seats

If she took such great care of it, then why are the seats falling apart? 70k miles shouldn't show much wear on those seats.

It is going to cost at least $800 for a good quality aftermarket leather job. It isn't worth putting that much into seats on a 97 SL. I'm sure you can find her another 'dream car'. Perhaps a better late 90's SL500 would be perfect.

We had a Golden Retriever that essentially ran our lives. She loved to ride in the car. I have gone out to the car to get something I left in the seat or the trunk and the dog has gooten so exited about hearing the car keys that I have taken her for a ride around the block just to make her happy.

Any recommendations for a shop in the So. Cal. area that will do this. The car now has 85k mile on it and the tear on the passenger side (dog) is much worse. Chelsey the dog is sadly gone.
