Keys that came with a 95 C280 Elegence

Hi to you all!

I am just wondering if anyone knows what keys were supplied with a 1995 W202 280 Elegence. The key I got when I bought the car looks like a spare key but I don't know if remote central locking was a standard piece of kit on the car or whether it was an optional extra.

OK here is the stupid question, how does one tell if a car has remote locking? (bear in mind my only other car was a Austin Montego!)

Secondly, if it did have the central locking how does one go about getting a replacement key? I would presume a Merc dealership although I have heard they are notoriously expensive.

Cheers all

Do you have the owner's manual for the car? It should cover your questions. If you don't have one, perhaps the forum can help.

Thanks for your reply!

No, I don't have the owners manual or any service history with the car so its a little difficult to tell what came with the car to begin with.

If anyone does have a copy of the W202 manual, I would be eternally grateful

Cheers

If your car has central locking, there will be lock/unlock buttons on the dash panel in addition to the remote lock/unlock key fob. I think Mercedes always puts the central locking buttons on the dash panel. Other makes usually put them on the door panel.
