'01 C-320 $11,000, should i buy it?????

hi, i'm actually not yet an owner!! i have stumbled onto a deal that may be too good to be true!! please give input and insight!! i've found a 2001 C320 with 49,000 miles on it for $11,000. it is at a dealership(not a mercedes dealer, but actually a very large network of dealerships which includes a mercedes dealership)anyway i'm scared to pull the trigger not because of the cost of maintenance but of an unexpected repair i may encounter. it is more car than i need but i love them and it seems like a great deal!! please advise with any feedback, and or things to look for when checking this beauty out!! thanks, brian

Welcome to the forum, Brian. By now, you have likely reviewed the W203 forum for more first-hand owner's feedback. I've had excellent ownership experiences with and '85 190E (+160k), and a '92 300E (+240k) - the key was keeping reasonably current with the scheduled maintenance - they'll drive forever.

But, to answer your question more directly, my repairs/maintenance experience required replacing the radiator (300E), catalytic converter (300E), and the driver-side window motor (300E). If you're a do-it-yourself, gear-head, then these aren't too bad... but I have lilly-white-collar hands, and had to pay for the work. My only complaint was with plastic-mold hose connectors as part of the radiator assembly - they seemed a little cheap and flimsy.

However, following the purchase of my first Benz, a prescient friend told me "you'll never drive a lesser car"... and I never have. I wish for you the best of satisfied experiences.
