1998 SLK230 horn not working

My horn stopped working a few weeks ago and I'm not sure what the problem is. Everything else on the car works as far as I can see. I don't know which fuse controls the horn (I pulled each one individually anyways), and I checked for obstructions in the actual button. If I pull the top down and arm the alarm, it usually starts to go off, and I don't know if the alarm is the same component as the horn. I haven't tried to take out the PSE yet and check it for water.

This has really stumped me and I am up for inspection so any expidited help will be much appreciated.

Thanks
Craigfrost

I don't think it is the same horn for both.

You could try to measure the horns with a multimeter or feed power directly to the horn connectors (at the centre front just behind the grill). It could also be the relay driving the horns.

Update: I don't know where the horn(s) are or the relay, if anyone can send me a picture it will be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Fanfare horns are just behind the radiator grill. It may be that you have to remove the grill to access them properly. Could be easier to find the other end of the wire driving the horns.

Where did you try the fuses, from the engine bay fuse box? I believe fuse #2, 15A should be for the horn.

A multi-purpose relay should control the horn too, you may find it with the name K40.

Thanks

I will try this tomorrow, is there a physical way to see if the horn or relay is broken? I swear I'm not completely stupid but I am not very savvy with cars. Otherwise I'll check the connections and the wires leading back. I wish I had a picture to see what the horn actually looks like. Thank you for your help so far.
