Question Locating Starter on E320??

I'm quite certain I have a starter solonid, issue or a loose connection near there. But...Where is there? Im guessing Passenger side of engine, but is there a reference to the location of the starter? pdf maybe? Thanks

Hi, Dan and welcome.

There is nothing bizarre about the starter, looks like a starter with a piggybackesd solenoid.

Pull the four lag screws (7mm hex if memory serves) for the back part of the belly pan and you will see it nestled in the back, lower right side of the engine. Spot the oil drain plug and go straight up from there and you'll see it.

You won't see it until you pull the beyy pan, though.

See you in the W210 forum...

Take care and enjoy the ride,
