Unhappy TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS ON 1995 S320

hi there.
thanx for this wonderful website Benzworld. i am from South Africa.i have a 1995 S320 in pristine condition in and out.it runs like a dream.about a year ago i pulled of from the robot and heard a slipping noise from the transmission area.i checked the oil level and found it to be in order.i only use the car weekends and a few weeks later this noise appeared again and went away again.i took the car to our mercedes agents and they said that the transmission needs to be replaced at a whopping 30.000 rands.i refused to accept the repair work and took it to a private repair garage.they also confirmed that the transmission is faulty.i requested that they only change the transmissions oil filter.after this the transmission still slipped.i still did not believe that the transmission was faulty as the reverse gear worked perfectly and only the forward gears slipped.i parked the car for two months without using it and one sunday decided to take it for a drive.to my amazement the transmission done the opposite of what it did before.it now only slipped in reverse gear ond not in the forward gears.i have driven it at high speeds and for the last 20 000 kilometers its given me no problem in the forward gears.what is confusing and not even our mercedes agents can fathom is to why the reverse gear slips and not the forward gears.the reverse gear only slips when the engine is run hot and not when its cold.if i start the car in the morning when its cold i could reverse for upto five minutes without the reverse gear slipping,.as soon as the engine is hot then the reverse gear slips but not the forward gears.in order for the reverse gear then to engage again the engine must cool down totally for at least two hours or so.please asisst.it seems as if i have a ghost in my transmission.thanking you good folk stacks.Adil.
