I haven't run a front plate for years. My 2007 E350 has a bendy plate holder that I never put on. The front of the car looks so clean as is.
The window tint installers misunderstood my instructions so my driver and passenger side windows are tinted. I told my wife that if the CHP pulls her over to roll down the front windows.

My truck was in a crash so I haven't put the mangled front plate back on so far. I need to touch up the numbers (paint) so it may be off for a while.

Yes it's hard to figure what the drill is for CA agriculture inspection. I've been waived through up at Lake Tahoe without front plates.

Porsche enthusiasts almost never have front plates on their cars. If they get a fix-it they install the plate and have it signed off. Then they immediately remove the front plate and store in garage again. "Bumper plugs" with factory color matched paint (sold as accessory to cover the 2 holes on front bumper) are installed.
wow you are a life savor. I was looking for something like this forever
