New member; first time Benz owner..and concerned
Hi. My name is Henry and I finally broke down and bought my first Benz.
So far, the jury is out.
The backstory: I purchased an end of model year 2008 350A Cabriolet with a P3 package. The dealer agreed to install the MB navigation system.
When I went to the dealer to pick up the car, they apologized but told me the nav installation was more complicated than they thought.. and it would take another hour. I told them, no problem, I"ll wait.
No, they explained.. they failed to order the in-dash antenna and it would take a day or two to come in. I drove home with no navigation, no satellite radio, incorrect time clock controlled by GPS.
Two days later, the part was in, the dealer picked up my car at home (so far so good) and called me at work to indicate the car was ready again.
I left work early, took a train to the dealer. The nav seemed to work. Satellite required activiation (no problem; I'd do that at home) and the service manager assured me the satellite would recognize car in 20 minutes and clock would track correct time.
Wrong. Satellite radio would not activate (Sirius said something wrong in installation) and after a day of driving, the clock is still wrong.
So, as I said at the oneset, the jury is out. Will the dealer fix their installation and develop a loyal MB family owner or will I need to invoke the lemon law and push for a refund.
