But if you DIY, buy oil when on sale with coupon, and buy several filters at a time to get free shipping etc., your cost (with your 'free' labor) is half of what the Dealer charges.

Would be happy to have the location Greg? My Walnut Creek dealer wanted $360 for service A last time I was there, what was about 2 years ago.
Never have heard about MB dealer agreeing doing oil change alone.

I get flyers all the time from Autobahn and sometimes see a deal for SF benz, dealers are always happy to bring you in for just an oil change.

My guess is that when you come in for the oil change they try to sell you on the A or B service, so it's effectively $300 or $600 before you leave.

If you are bored give MBWC a call and ask them what their service special is for an oil change with synthetic; if they don't run a special it would be interesting to see what their charge is.

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg
