But if you DIY, buy oil when on sale with coupon, and buy several filters at a time to get free shipping etc., your cost (with your 'free' labor) is half of what the Dealer charges.

Never have heard about MB dealer agreeing doing oil change alone.

I get flyers all the time from Autobahn and sometimes see a deal for SF benz, dealers are always happy to bring you in for just an oil change.

My guess is that when you come in for the oil change they try to sell you on the A or B service, so it's effectively $300 or $600 before you leave.

If you are bored give MBWC a call and ask them what their service special is for an oil change with synthetic; if they don't run a special it would be interesting to see what their charge is.
